How to Buy Disney Military Tickets Long Distance (2026 Guide)

How to Buy Disney Military Tickets Long Distance (Updated 2026 Guide)

If you don’t live near a military base, buying Disney military tickets can feel confusing—but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, buying your tickets long distance is not only possible, it’s often the fastest and most practical option for many military families.

Note, this applies to the other Theme Parks as well (Universal, SeaWorld, etc.)

Years ago, this process relied heavily on calling ticket offices like Shades of Green. Today, things have evolved. You now have multiple reliable ways to purchase tickets remotely—by phone, email, or online submission—while still getting everything you need to plan your trip in advance.

This guide walks you through the best long-distance options, what to expect from each, and how to choose the right one for your situation.

Why Buying Your Tickets Early Still Matters

Before we get into where to buy, it’s important to understand why timing matters.

To fully plan your trip, you’ll need to link your tickets in My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) or the Disneyland app. This allows you to:

  • Make park reservations (when required)
  • Plan your park days
  • Purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass selections

Without your ticket numbers, you can’t do any of this. Waiting until you arrive can limit your options—especially during busy travel periods.

Buying on Base (When It Makes Sense)

If you’re stationed near a base, your local ITT or MWR office is often the easiest option. You can walk in, ask questions, and leave with your tickets in hand.

However, many retirees, veterans, and even active-duty families don’t live near a convenient base location. Even when a base is nearby, getting there isn’t always practical. For example, I live and work near Wright-Patterson AFB, but getting to the ITT office can take 45+ minutes round trip—so I almost always buy long distance instead.

And in some cases, long-distance options offer advantages like faster access to ticket numbers or even pre-activated tickets. Base Ticket Offices usually do not keep tickets in stock and order them from a regional ITT center, causing a return trip to pick the tickets up.

Best Long-Distance Ticket Offices (Fast & Reliable)

These are the most reliable and commonly used options for buying Disney military tickets remotely.

Orlando Florida Navy Tickets and Travel Office Interior

Patrick Space Force Base ITT (Top Recommendation)

This is one of the fastest and most efficient ticket offices available.

After placing your order and payment, Patrick SFB ITT often has your tickets entered into Disney’s system quickly—sometimes within hours. In many cases, you’ll receive your ticket numbers by email the same day, allowing you to link them immediately.

Physical tickets, if any, are shipped (typically via FedEx), but you don’t have to wait for them to begin planning.

  • Patrick SFB ITT Webpage

Camp Pendleton ITT (Best for Disneyland)

Camp Pendleton is an excellent option, especially for Disneyland tickets. They offer both Armed Forces Salute and regular military discounted tickets.

They can take orders over the phone and email the tickets to you. Processing times are generally the same day. I buy my Disneyland tickets here!

  • Camp Pendleton ITT Webpage

Orlando ITT

This lesser-known option has earned a strong reputation for fast service. It’s a great choice, particularly for Walt Disney World tickets.

  • Orland ITT Info

Other ITT Offices

Many other bases offer remote ticket sales, the below options have been recommended by MDT resdersincluding:

  • NAS Corpus Christi MWR
  • Nellis AFB ITT
  • Newport MWR
  • Lackland ITT
  • Hanscom ITT
  • DLA San Joaquin MWR

Availability and speed vary, so it’s always worth asking about processing times.

Buying from Shades of Green Resort

Shades of Green Military Discounted Tickets for Other Orlando Area Attractions

Shades of Green’s Attraction Ticket Office

Shades of Green offers a unique advantage—but also comes with an important trade-off.

Their ticket office allows long-distance purchases through an online form submission process. After submitting your request, they will call you to collect payment and finalize the order.

Here’s the key thing to understand:

Shades of Green can be VERY SLOW.

Depending on demand, it can take anywhere from a few hours to up to 3 weeks to receive a callback. This is not unusual—it’s something you absolutely need to factor into your planning timeline.

Once processed, they will email you a PDF containing your ticket numbers and barcodes.

The big advantage: Shades of Green is the only location that sells pre-activated Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets. That means you can go straight to the park entrance without stopping at Guest Relations first and waiting in line to activate your tickets.

Activated vs. Unactivated Tickets (Important)

This is one of the most misunderstood parts of the process.

Shades of Green tickets are pre-activated. You can use them immediately at park entry.

All other ticket offices sell unactivated tickets. Even if they say the tickets are “activated,” what they usually mean is that they can be linked in My Disney Experience.

You will still need to show your military ID and activate those tickets at a Disney ticket window or Guest Relations before first use. This can take time on your first park day as there could be a long line!

The good news is that unactivated tickets can still be linked in advance, so you can make park reservations and plan your trip without delay.

How to Link Your Tickets

Once you receive your ticket numbers (or exchange vouchers), you can link them in:

  • My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) – app or website
  • Disneyland – app or website

You can enter the numbers manually or scan them using your smartphone.

Once linked, assign each ticket to a guest and proceed with your planning.

How to Decide Where to Buy

Here’s a simple way to choose the best option:

  • Need tickets fast? Use Patrick SFB ITT
  • Going to Disneyland? Use Camp Pendleton
  • Want pre-activated tickets? Use Shades of Green (but plan ahead!)
  • Prefer in-person help? Use your local base ITT office

For many families, long-distance purchasing is not just a backup plan—it’s the most efficient way to get tickets quickly and start planning right away.

Pro Tips for Buying Long Distance

Before you place your order, keep these tips in mind:

  • Select your ticket start date carefully,  for date-based tickets (these are the WDW Military Theme Park Tickets, but not the Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets)
  • Confirm expiration dates for your tickets
  • Allow extra time if using Shades of Green
  • Link your tickets as soon as you receive the numbers
  • Plan your Lightning Lane selections after linking

Buying your tickets early—and from the right source—can make a huge difference in how smoothly your trip comes together.

Not to be negative, but I question the SOG ticket office staff. I am going to WDW this August and I tried to buy my tickets (long-distance) through SOG in March and they replied and told me that it was too early. They said I should wait to buy them from them about two (2) months in advance. They told me that getting park reservations are easy to get, even just a month in advance.

      Hi David,

I’ve received notes about the SoG Ticket Office actually refusing to sell tickets to those they felt were too far out.

Being generous, they could be looking out for people’s wallets in the case of changed plans.

But what I think is really going on is their attempt to manage workload. If they are busy and can push you off, it helps them in the short term.

Their response time (from the time you submit a ticket request until they call you to complete the transaction) can vary widely and has been as long as 3 weeks at times!

For non-peak times, yes, it’s usually no problem getting reservations, but for busy times, you want them as far out as possible. August should be no problem.

But, if you are buying the non-date-based Salute tickets and you want them, just tell them you are going next month.
