Disneyland’s Pixar Place Hotel

The overall theme of the Pixar Place Hotel is of course the Pixar movies.

Rooms

Rooms are decorated with Pixar themed furnishings.

This hotel is the lowest priced one on property, which is why it qualifies for the lowest Disney Armed Forces Salute room discount percentage of Up To 30% off regular rates.

At 360 to 400 square feet the Pixar Place rooms are average size for on property, comparable to the Grand Californian and smaller than the Disneyland Hotel.

The Pixar Place Hotel has 481 regular rooms and 29 suites.

Theme Park Room View – California Adventure

The hotel is separated from the main Disneyland Resort area by Disneyland Drive so you’ll feel just a little removed from the action.

Dining

There are three dining locations at the Pixar Place, the Great Maple Modern American Eatery, The Sketch Pad Café, and Small Bytes (located poolside).

Great Maple Modern American Eatery (Table Service, BLD $$) Order breakfast, lunch, dinner and craft cocktails at any time of day! Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs, Charred Cauliflower Hummus, Maple Pecan-Crusted Salmon and Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts are just some of the tasty menu items.

Craft cocktails—including a signature take on the old fashioned with bacon washed bourbon, and the blood orange margarita with spicy salt rim is not to be missed!

The Sketch Pad Café (Quick Service Lounge, BLD $) – Croissants, bagels, muffins and breads—from the renowned Röckenwagner Bakery. Or try one of the sweets offered, including Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Salted Caramel Brownie. And be energized from one of a variety of fine coffees, espressos, teas and juices. Mini Frittatas—made of cheese and egg, or specially created either for vegetarians or meat lovers. Or try the Avocado Toast or a Pizza Bagel. All while immersed in the creative process through the café’s imaginative décor—with Pixar-themed sketches tracing the evolvement of beloved Pixar characters.

In a Hurry? Grab a Balance Box—with roasted garlic hummus, pita bread, veggies and a hard-boiled egg. Pick up the Adult Snackable—with meat, cheese and crackers. Enjoy the Coconut Chia Yogurt Parfait, Overnight Oats or a Fresh Fruit Cup. Or select a tasty meal from a variety of packaged sandwiches and salads.

Small Bytes (S $) – Enjoy a tasty snack or hearty sandwich at Pixar Place Hotel when you stop by Small Bytes. Delight in this pool bar’s creative décor, based on Pixar’s uniquely imaginative characters and style.

• Chips & Bits – Choose one of our homemade potato chips—classic, salt & vinegar or barbecue—and add one of your favorite dips. Or enjoy snacking on soft pretzels, hummus and veggies, ceviche or fruit wedges with a yogurt dip.
• Lyte Bytes – Savor a selection of meat and cheese with crackers and other nibbles, or dive into an Asian or BLAT salad—or a chia pudding with granola and berries.
• Mega Bytes – Craving something substantial? Try a burger with 2 all-beef patties or an impossible patty. Or go for a chicken breast sandwich, a vegan wrap, “full stack” nachos or chicken fingers.
• Little Nibblers – For an energy boost, select the grilled cheese & fruit stix, the pizza bagel or a plate of cheese, crackers and a fruit stix.
• Refreshments =- Enjoy mini-floats, classic sodas and specially conceived sodas. For adults, there are full bar offerings of your choosing. Also, adults can delight in alcoholic floats—the Margarita Float, Mimosa Float and more—or create your own masterpiece!

Pool – The Finding Nemo-inspired rooftop pool deck is located on the third floor.

Cool off at the all-new Pixel Pool or ride a wave of thrills on the 186-foot-long Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, both inspired by Nemo and his underwater friends! Or lounge the day away in a cozy lounge chair high atop the third floor and take in the beautiful southern California sunshine!

Little ones looking to get their feet wet can splash at Nemo’s Cove, while adults in search of a more relaxing retreat can spend time in the whirlpool.

Hot Tub – co-located with the pool.

Poolside Cabanas – Enjoy private cabanas, daybeds or pods so you can lounge the day away in comfort and style.

Fireworks Viewing – On select nights, watch the Disneyland Park fireworks—and listen to a live synchronized broadcast of the stirring soundtrack—from the third-floor pool deck.

Pixar Shorts Court – With activities inspired by Pixar’s famous short films. Interactive games and imaginative free play celebrate favorite friends from “La Luna,” “Bao,” “For the Birds,” and “Burrow.”

A Magical Night at the Movies – Watch complimentary screenings of Disney films on select nights on the rooftop pool deck.

Arcade – Flounder’s Fun n’ Games Arcade, play video and pinball games at this arcade in the Cinema Hall building, near the food court.

Fitness Center – Work out while on vacation at the Mickey’s Beach Fitness Center, a workout facility featuring high tech equipment.

Guest Laundry – Enjoy 24-hour self-service laundry rooms, as well as dry cleaning and valet laundry services.

Location

The Pixar Place Hotel is located on the west side of Disneyland property, on the far side of Disneyland Drive from the rest of the resort.

Transportation

All Disneyland guest areas can be reached by walking.

Pixar Place Hotel Disney California Adventure Back Gate

Pixar Place guests have a back entrance into Disney’s California Adventure just like the Grand Californian guests do. In years past, Pixar Place guests would walk across the street to the Grand Californian, enter the lobby and use the same back entrance that the Grand Californian guests do. But not any more. Pixar Place guests have their own California Adventure entrance. You’ll still cross the street as if you were going to the Grand Californian, but rather that going through the security gate and into the lobby, you’ll see a separate security gate to the right. After using your room key to go through the gate, a path will take you around the right side of the Grand Californian to a security check point, then to the entrance which enters the park to the right of Goofy’s Sky School.

NOTE: On 1 January 2026, this entrance will be closing! Pixar Place guests will have access to the Grand Californian’s back entrance to California Adventure (as they did before this dedicated Pixar Place gate opened). This will increase the length of morning lines at the Grand Californian to get through security and into the park!

Our Thoughts

The Pixar Place Hotel was the first Disneyland resort that we ever stayed at (back when it was the Paradise Pier Hotel). We had a theme park view room and loved it for the great view of Disney California Adventure. Keep in mind half of the rooms are non-theme park views i.e. a parking lot or pool views. Pixar Place is the least convenient Disneyland resort hotel as it is located across the street from the main Disneyland area. Of the three Disneyland hotels it also has the least number of restaurants and lounges.

It is the lowest price point at Disneyland and we would stay there again.
