As we told you recently, Disneyland has set a re-opening date for California residents.
Disneyland Finally Scheduled to Reopen
Today we’re back with more details.
UPDATE: Disneyland is scheduled to re-open to out of state guests on 15 June 2021.
Will there be a Disney Armed Forces Salute?
Theme Parks
After being closed for more than one year, Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park are planning to reopen to California Residents Only with limited capacity on 30 April 2021.
“Until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, in line with current state guidelines. Proof of residency may be required.”
“Per the state guidelines, the name and contact information of each person who purchases a ticket to the parks should be collected for contact tracing purposes.”
Disneyland will be instituting several measures to control attendance.
- A Theme Park Reservation System, just like Walt Disney World’s, will be put in place
- Only California Residents will be admitted
Disneyland will have the same strict social distancing measures that we’ve seen at WDW, including Character Cavalcades and Pop Ups, and no regularly scheduled parades or nighttime spectaculars which both draw crowds.
The highly popular FastPass and MaxPass services have been suspended.
The Virtual Queue will be back at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, with opportunities to join a boarding group once in the morning and again later in the day (times to be announced later).
The Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park, will open 4 June 2021!
As at Walt Disney World, not all Disneyland Resort attractions will be available when they reopen.

Disneyland Armed Forces Salute
There has been no news as to the fate of the Disney Armed Forces Salute at the Disneyland Resort yet!
MDT doesn’t expect a Salute type offer at Disneyland until they either begin allowing those who do not live in California to enter or even when attendance limits are lifted.
In June of 2020 Disneyland announced on their website that they had extended the expiration on Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets to 16 December 2021.
See: disneyland.disney.go.com/travel-information/ and click on Tickets then look for Military Salute.
MDT expects that Disneyland will belatedly think of the military community after reopening to the entire country, similar to their delayed policy changes for Walt Disney World.

Khristen says
Hello,
In July, myself, husband and kids are going to California to visit family and was wanting to visit Disneyland. Would we be considered residence by there standards? I don’t live in California because of the military but am still a California resident. My husband and I still have valid California ID’s. My children under 18 have military ID’s.
Steve says
I would say so with you CA ID’s Khristen.

Steve,
any idea when/if Disneyland will start up the 2021 Military Salute? We’re going in the middle of JUL since they are opening to out of state residents now.
thanks,
