Disneyland’s park attendance is currently managed through a new theme park reservation system (just like Walt Disney World) that requires all Guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance.
To enter a theme park, Guests (ages 3 and older) will need a valid ticket and a theme park reservation for the same day and same park they want to visit.
If you have a multi-day ticket, you must make a park reservation for each date of your visit.
If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you must make a park reservation for the first park you plan to visit and enter that first park prior to visiting the other park. You may cross over and switch between parks beginning at 1:00 PM that day, subject to capacity. Limit one park reservation per day.
To accommodate as many types of ticket holders as possible, reservations for select dates may be made available on a rolling basis. You can check for updated availability online.
Please note that park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the park reservation is finalized.
Since both a valid ticket and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same date are required for park entry, reservations for dining experiences and other pre-booked experiences do not guarantee access to a park, and Park Hopper availability may change daily.
Disneyland recommends that Guests book in-park dining and other experiences at the park where they have a theme park reservation. Guests can make dining reservations or add their party to the walk-up list at select table-service restaurants via the Disneyland app after their Park Hopper ticket is used to enter the second park, if available.

We’d like to plan a December trip to Disneyland, but the reservations are only open through October. I’ve noticed they just add one more day on the calendar at time. It doesn’t seem safe to buy our tickets (Military Salute), book a hotel, flight and time off for my husband now. Should we wait until the dates we want show up? If the reservations continue opening one day at a time, it’ll be mid August before we can reserve the days we want.
Hi Monica,
I’d go ahead and book your hotel, you can always cancel.
Tickets, I’d wait until 2 weeks prior to your dates opening up to order, so you’ll have them on hand on the desired day.
You didn’t say when in Dec, if over the holiday, you’ll want to make the park reservations the second they you can.
Thank you so much, Steve.
We were thinking the first or second week of December. Before the 2022 military salute is over.
