2026 Disney Memory Maker Military Discount at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World offers eligible U.S. military members and spouses a deeply discounted Memory Maker for $98 in 2026.
The military price is available through December 18, 2026. Regular Memory Maker currently costs $185 when purchased at least three days in advance or $210 at the regular purchase price, making the military offer one of Disney’s most valuable military discounts.
Memory Maker allows you to download the Disney PhotoPass photos and attraction videos associated with your account during your vacation. This includes photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers, select attraction photos and videos, Magic Shots, character photos, and photos from select dining locations.
The important catch: You cannot purchase the military-priced Memory Maker online before your vacation. The eligible military member or spouse must purchase it in person at Walt Disney World and present a valid military ID.
Disneyland does not offer a military discount on its PhotoPass products.

No more than two Memory Maker products may be purchased at the military price during the 2026 offer. The limit applies to the eligible military member and spouse together—not two purchases for each person.
Memory Maker is nonrefundable, cannot be transferred or resold, and is restricted to personal use.
Can You Rope Drop Before Buying Military Memory Maker?
Absolutely—and I actually recommend it.
One of the biggest misconceptions about the military Memory Maker discount is that you have to buy it before taking your first PhotoPass picture.
You don’t.
Disney’s military Memory Maker must be purchased in person after you arrive at Walt Disney World, but Disney allows it to be purchased at any point during your vacation. Photos already linked to your My Disney Experience account are included, provided they have not expired.
The confusion comes from Disney’s Advance Purchase Memory Maker. That version, which anyone can buy online before their trip, has a three-day waiting period. The military Memory Maker is a completely different offer and does not use that advance-purchase system.
That means you can enjoy your first morning instead of standing in line at Guest Relations.
For example, you could:
- Rope drop Magic Kingdom
- Take your family photo in front of Cinderella Castle
- Ride attractions with PhotoPass photos or videos
- Meet Mickey Mouse
- Purchase the military Memory Maker later that afternoon—or even another day during your vacation
As long as those photos are linked to your My Disney Experience account and have not expired, they’ll be available for download after your military Memory Maker is purchased.
The Best Time to Purchase Military Memory Maker
The easiest strategy is to purchase it on your arrival evening or during a convenient break instead of adding another task to your first park morning.
For EPCOT and Skyliner-Area Resorts
Guests staying near EPCOT or along the Disney Skyliner route can visit the International Gateway ticket window or Guest Relations area near the entrance between EPCOT and the Crescent Lake resorts.
This can be especially convenient for guests staying at:
- Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Villas
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
- Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
You can combine the purchase with an arrival-evening walk around Crescent Lake, an EPCOT visit, or dinner in the BoardWalk area.
For Magic Kingdom and Monorail-Area Resorts
Guests staying at a Magic Kingdom-area resort can stop at the Magic Kingdom entrance ticket windows or Guest Relations without visiting the park, or before or after visiting the park.
This is convenient for guests staying at:
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Villas
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Villas
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Villas
- Shades of Green
Guests staying at Shades of Green can take the resort bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center and continue to Magic Kingdom, or make the purchase during their first visit to another theme park.
During a Midday or Evening Break
You can also take your first morning’s photos and purchase Memory Maker later when ticket-window lines are shorter or when you are already passing the park entrance.
The best location is not necessarily the first park you visit. Choose the ticket window or Guest Relations location that fits naturally into your plans.
Is the Military Memory Maker Worth $98?
For many military families, yes.
The military price is substantially less than the regular Memory Maker prices, and the package includes unlimited digital downloads rather than charging by the photo.
At a regular individual-download price of approximately $15 per photo, seven purchased photos would cost more than the entire $98 military Memory Maker.
The larger question is not whether $98 is a good discount. It is whether your family will take enough PhotoPass and attraction photos to use it.

- First Walt Disney World vacations
- Once-in-several-years family trips
- Trips with children or grandchildren
- Extended-family or reunion trips
- Character-heavy vacations
- Celebrations such as retirements, anniversaries, birthdays, and graduations
- Families that enjoy attraction photos and videos
- runDisney participants
- Families that want the usual photographer included in the pictures
You May Not Need It When
- You are taking a very short trip
- Your party rarely stops for PhotoPass photographers
- You are visiting mainly for dining, shopping, or resort time
- You already receive PhotoPass downloads through an eligible Annual Pass
- You only want one or two individual pictures
- Your group does not care about attraction photos or character pictures
PhotoPass vs. Memory Maker
Disney PhotoPass and Memory Maker are related, but they are not the same thing.
Disney PhotoPass is the photography system. PhotoPass photographers take the pictures, and Disney’s attraction cameras capture select ride photos and videos.
Memory Maker is the prepaid digital-download product that lets you download the qualifying PhotoPass media connected to your account during the Memory Maker window.

Memory Maker is a digital product. It does not include printed photographs, photo books, frames, or other physical products.
How PhotoPass Works in the Parks
Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout Walt Disney World, including many locations near park icons, character experiences, seasonal displays, and scenic areas.
When you have your picture taken:
- Ask the photographer to take your photo
- Have the photographer scan your MagicBand, park ticket, or Disney MagicMobile pass
- Check your My Disney Experience account after the photo uploads
For attraction photos, a MagicBand or eligible Bluetooth-enabled mobile device may be required for certain photos and digital content to connect automatically to your account.
Some attractions also provide a location where guests can scan a park ticket or MagicBand to associate a photo with their account.
Photos can take time to appear. Disney advises that it may take as long as 24 hours in some cases.

How Long Do You Have to Use and Download Memory Maker?
Standard Memory Maker includes qualifying PhotoPass media captured during a 30-day Memory Maker window.
The window begins when you first download or unlock a PhotoPass photo—or otherwise activate the Memory Maker entitlement—and continues through the following 30 days under Disney’s current terms.
PhotoPass photos currently expire 45 days after the date each photo was taken. Download the images before they expire. They disappear individually based on their capture dates, not all at once at the end of your trip.
Do not activate Memory Maker too early for a long or split vacation. Once activated, the 30-day window begins.
Who Qualifies for the Military Memory Maker Discount?
Eligible Service Members include active and retired members of the U.S. military, including:
- Army
- Marine Corps
- Navy
- Air Force
- Space Force
- Coast Guard
- National Guard
- Reserves
- Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service
- Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The spouse of an eligible member may purchase the military Memory Maker without the member present when the spouse can present a valid and active U.S. military dependent ID.
A valid military ID is required at the time of purchase.
What About Non-Retired Veterans?
Non-retired veterans do not qualify for this offer solely because they are veterans.
Veterans with qualifying service-connected disability, Purple Heart, former POW, and designated caregivers under the Equal Access Act may qualify for certain military benefits and ticket-office access, but Disney’s Memory Maker offer uses Disney’s narrower Eligible Service Member definition.

Where to Purchase Memory Maker with the Military Discount
The military-priced Memory Maker cannot be purchased online or through the My Disney Experience app.
Disney’s official 2026 terms state that it must be purchased by an Eligible Service Member or spouse at a Walt Disney World theme park ticket window.
Practical locations include the park entrance ticket-window and Guest Relations areas at:
- Magic Kingdom
- EPCOT Main Entrance

Common Military Memory Maker Mistakes
Waiting in Line Before Rope Drop
You do not need to purchase Memory Maker before your first photograph. Enjoy rope drop and buy it later.
Assuming It Can Be Bought Online
The military price is an in-person offer. The $98 version will not appear as a military purchase option in My Disney Experience.
Buying the Regular Version by Mistake
Do not purchase the $185 advance version or $210 regular version online when you intend to use the military discount. The military offer must be purchased in person.
Forgetting the Military ID
The eligible member or spouse must present a valid military ID.
Failing to Connect Family and Friends
Confirm that everyone whose photos you want is connected to the Memory Maker owner through My Disney Experience and is sharing PhotoPass photos.
Downloading One Photo Too Early
Downloading or unlocking the first photo activates the standard Memory Maker window. Consider the timing carefully if your Walt Disney World visits span several weeks.
Letting Photos Expire
PhotoPass images currently expire 45 days after they are taken. Download them before the individual expiration dates.
Assuming Every Photo Will Appear Automatically
Technology is not perfect. Check your account regularly and contact Disney PhotoPass Guest Support promptly when a picture is missing.
Do You Need a MagicBand?
You do not need a MagicBand to have a PhotoPass photographer take your picture. The photographer can scan a linked admission card or Disney MagicMobile pass.
However, Disney states that a MagicBand or an eligible mobile device with Bluetooth enabled may be required to receive certain attraction photos and other digital content.
A MagicBand can therefore make the system more convenient, especially for attraction photos that are captured automatically.
Not staying at a Disney Resort hotel?
You can still purchase a MagicBand and link it to your My Disney Experience account.

Military Memory Maker vs. an Annual Pass Photo Benefit
Before buying Memory Maker, check whether someone in your party already has a Walt Disney World Annual Pass that includes or has added the Disney PhotoPass download benefit.
When an Annual Passholder’s photo benefit covers the necessary dates and the traveling party is properly connected through Family & Friends, purchasing a separate Memory Maker may be unnecessary.
Do not assume that every Annual Pass automatically includes downloads. Confirm the benefits attached to the specific pass before your trip.
Is There a Disneyland Military PhotoPass Discount?
No.
Disneyland does not offer the Walt Disney World military Memory Maker discount.
Disneyland uses the Disney PhotoPass system, but its PhotoPass purchasing options and Lightning Lane benefits are separate from Walt Disney World’s Memory Maker program.
Military families visiting both resorts should not assume that purchasing the $98 Walt Disney World Memory Maker provides Disneyland downloads. It does not.

Disney’s rules on this discount explicitly say that the Memory Maker discount is for the “Eligible Service Members and their spouses.”

I am standing at Guest Services in Disney Springs and am being told that my VA service connected disability (in my case 80%) card does not qualify for the discount for the Memory Maker. I am stunned. I would either need to be active duty, retired or 100% disabled…and today is Memorial Day.

We are traveling as a group of 9. 6 of us are using military salute tickets. My brother in law is the service member. Does he have to have a login to the Disney app to be able to purchase memory maker? Or can he purchase and it just shows on the rest of our MDE because we are all linked in the app? He doesn’t have a login, and I know he would prefer not to set anything up. I’ve been designated to do all the planning and handle all that to make it less stressful for him. He would be around to purchase it as he has to activate our tickets. I would just like minimize any hassle/stress ahead of time.

Thank you for the info. I have a quick question: I’m the ID card holder, we have a group of 8 going in early DEC25. Once we get to the park the teens will go their way, the 30’s with kids will go their way and the more mature will take it slower. The difference between the Regular cost vs discounted 4 day Salute tickets for 4 people was approximately $1500 for our summer travel dates. That $1500 savings is the cost of our flights!
The Memory Maker for Military is a solid win if we choose 6 or more photos. Even on a short trip this might be hard to pass up. We’ve skipped many photo stops at times when we hadn’t had the Memory Maker package bc well $15/photo adds up! Great information.
Debating on combining this with a Capture the Moment shoot for 2nd trip later this year and its still less than regular cost! 🙂
