Walt Disney World’s Port Orleans – French Quarter as the name suggests is themed after New Orleans.
The Port Orleans Resort is actually two different, physically separated resorts with hyphenated names that are near to each other. They are Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. Many years ago (prior to 2001) they were called the Dixie Landings Resort (Riverside) and the Port Orleans Resort (French Quarter).
As the smallest Moderate, French Quarter is much less busy. There are no sections due to the resorts size.
Guest Rooms
Rooms at French Quarter sleep up to 4 people, with 2020 non-discounted room prices starting at $246 including tax.

Disney Moderate rooms are somewhat larger that the Value rooms (on average 315 square feet compared to 260).
Standard rooms offer 2 double beds, which sleep four. A crib may be requested for children under 3 years old. All the All-Stars have now completed a multi-year remodel, which had its good and bad points.
Features include a table and two chairs, dresser, TV, coffee maker and small fridge, ironing board and dryer, small safe, and hair dryer. Ample plugs and USB charging ports are available.
The bathroom proper is off of the single sink vanity area and separated by a door. The vanity area has a curtain to keep light from the vanity area beaming those still trying to sleep.

Transportation
Bus transportation is available to all Disney World guest areas. Boat transportation is available to Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s Old Key West DVC Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs DVC Resort, and Disney Springs.
Overnight Parking is $20.00 per night at the Disney World Moderates. Note this charge is initiated for all nights of your stay either by telling the front desk that you have a vehicle when checking in or by using your room key/Magic Band to enter the parking lot. If you will not be parking every night (say you have a rental car for just a dat or so) coordinate this with the front desk.
Our Thoughts

This Disney Resort Hotel is a Military Disney Tips Most Favorite Resort! |
We love French Quarter for its smaller size and less people capacity. It is by far the smallest moderate. When staying at a moderate we often choose French Quarter!
One slight drawback is that it is the only Moderate without a table service restaurant, but Riverside and Disney Springs are just a boat ride away. You can even walk to Riverside.
