The Universal Orlando Resort offers 3 kinds of Military Discounts.

Universal Orlando Freedom Pass – Spring 2025 Bolckouts Removed!

Epic Universe 1-Day Add-On for the 2025 Military Freedom Pass

These are the Special Offer called the Freedom Pass, the Military Room Discounts at Universal’s hotels, and the Regular Military Discounted Universal Orlando Tickets.

Below I’ll detail the eligibility for each. They are not the same!

Universal Orlando Freedom Pass

Universal Orlando’s Freedom Pass is a highly discounted, calendar-year-long pass with some limitations for one low price.

Freedom Passes are sold in person at Base Ticket Offices or by Base Ticket Offices that sell long distance. They are not available at Universal’s ticket windows.

Universal’s Freedom Pass may be sold to and used by the following individuals.

Active Duty

• Army
• Navy
• Marines
• Air Force
• Space Force
• Coast Guard

Reserve & National Guard

• Army
• Navy
• Marines
• Air Force
• Space Force
• Coast Guard
• Not State Guards, for example, the Texas State Guard

Retired

• Retired members of the above, with Retired ID

Spouses Dependents 

• Spouses of all the above with ID
• Widow and Widower IDs also Qualify

DoD Civilians

• With ID
• Spouses not eligible
• Retired DoD Civilians Not Eligible

100% Disabled Veterans

• Valid DEERS Issued ID/Card
• Includes Spouses with Valid DEERS Issued ID/Card that states they are a spouse
• VA Cards Not Accepted

Universal Orlando’s Military Room Discounts

The Universal Orlando Resort offers Military Vacation Packages and Discounted Room Rates. These are available by booking directly with Universal Orlando or through your Travel Agent. Military Disney Tips recommends that you use our Expert Universal Specializing Agent: Jen Novak!

Regular Military Discounted Universal Orlando Tickets

Universal Orlando’s Regular Military Tickets are slightly discounted versions of their 1 to 5-day general public tickets.

These tickets may be purchased and used by anyone allowed to use a Base Ticket Office. They may also be given to non-eligible family and friends to use with those who are eligible.

The following are eligible to purchase these tickets!

Active Duty

• Army
• Navy
• Marines
• Air Force
• Space Force
• Coast Guard

Reserve & National Guard

• Army
• Navy
• Marines
• Air Force
• Space Force
• Coast Guard

Retired

• Retired members of the above, with Retired ID

Dependents 

• Spouses of all the above
• Widow and Widower of all the above
• Child Dependents of all the above (with ID)
• Divorced Spouses of all the above (with ID with MWR Privileges)

DoD Civilians

• With ID
• Spouses not eligible
• Retired DoD Civilians Not Eligible

Those eligible under the Equal Access Act

The Equal Access Act allows the following individuals to use Base Ticket Offices among other benefits:

• Veterans who are Purple Heart recipients
• Veterans who are former prisoners of war
• All Veterans with service-connected disabilities
• Individuals approved and designated as the Primary Family Caregivers of eligible Veterans under the VA Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers

Universal Orlando Military Discount Eligibility

• What military discounts are available at Universal Orlando?
  Eligible military families can purchase specially priced park tickets and book discounted hotel rooms, typically through Shades of Green or base ticket offices.

• Do Universal military tickets include Express Pass?
  No. Discounted tickets do not include Express Pass, but Premier Universal hotels provide Unlimited Express Pass as a stay benefit.

• Can I buy Universal military tickets in advance?
  Yes. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at Shades of Green or military base ticket offices.

• Do Universal military tickets have blackout dates?
  Generally no. Universal’s tickets typically have no blackout dates, but it’s always best to confirm current-year terms before buying.
