So you’ve linked your Disney Armed Forces Salute or Regular Military Discounted Magic Your Way tickets to your My Disney Account. What’s next?
How Your Account Will Look At First
(updated February 2020)
As soon as you link a valid ticket or annual pass to your account you will open up your 30 day FastPass Plus window. You will then be eligible to make FastPass Plus reservations for the upcoming 30 days up to the number of days on your ticket.
This of course won’t do you any good if you are not or won’t be at Disney World during the next 30 days.
Each day that passes will move the 30 day window 1 day forward.
You can view your 30-day window by:
- Hovering over My Disney Experience
- Clicking FastPass+ (from the dropdown)
- New Fastpass+
- Select a member of your party and click Next at the bottom of the page
You’ll then be on a page with a calendar. Each day of your 30-day window will be highlighted in light blue. These days are now selectable.
What happens next and what you’ll see in your account depends on where you will be staying for your Walt Disney World Vacation. Will you be staying at a Disney owned resort or somewhere else?
Before To Your 60th Day Prior to Check In
Non-Disney Guests
Non-Disney Guests will see no change to the 30 day window, just the day-by-day creep of the 30th day of your window as it moves forward slowly towards the day that you want to make your first FastPasses for.
While you are waiting, you can familiarize yourself with what attractions and experiences are available 30 days out by browsing what is available. Remember Disney Resort Guests have been making their FastPasses for 30 days prior to your FastPass window opening.
When that incredible day finally arrives go ahead and make those FastPasses!
The following day you’ll make the next day’s FastPasses and so on, up to the number of days on your ticket.
Disney Resort Guests
Disney Resort Guests (all Disney resorts plus Shades of Green, the Swan & Dolphin, & Disney Springs Resorts) will also see the 30-day FastPass Plus window as described above when they link their tickets.
Linking your Resort Reservation is what will eventually open up your 60-Day FastPass Plus window.
You can link your resort reservation before or after linking your tickets.
If you are more than 60 days from your check in date all you will see is the 30-Day Window as described above. This is normal!
You will not see any change until the 60th day prior to your check in date.
On the 60th Day Prior to Check In
Disney Resort Guests
On the 60th day prior to check in your 60-Day FastPass Plus window will open. Your window being clickable days on the calendar. Your window will be the length of your Walt Disney Resort Reservation from check in day to check out day.
You will be allowed to make FastPass reservations for any of the days within your 60-Day Window, up to the number of days on your ticket.
However you may only make FastPasses for the number of days on any linked tickets. If you have a 10-day window, but only a 6-day ticket, once you make FastPasses on the 6th day, you will no longer be able to make FastPasses on any other days (unless you cancel a day’s worth).
Special note: If your stay is longer than 2 weeks, then FastPass+ selections can be made for up to 14 of the days in your window.
There will be a gap of non-selectable days between your 30-day window and your 60-day window.
Note: Blockout Days any on your Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket or annual pass will never be selectable.Â
Conventional wisdom is to start at the end of your trip and work forward day by day trying to lock in the most sought-after items. Working from the end of your trip forward gives you less competition as those with shorter stays cannot compete for those latter days yet and those ahead of you have already been working on the earliest days of your trip.
Wrapping It Up
I hope this clears up just what you should see in your account while you are waiting for your vacation. I’ve received many worried communications from Disney Guests who only saw the initial 30 Day Window after linking their tickets.
