On a recent trip to Shades of Green, Walt Disney World’s Military only Resort, we dropped by the Garden Gallery for breakfast.
The Garden Gallery is Shades of Green’s Buffet Style restaurant, which is open for breakfast and dinner.
The Garden Gallery serves a traditional American style buffet breakfast every morning. You’ll be sure to find something that everyone in your party will like.
There are hot and cold service lines as well as pastries and the big crowd pleasers, fresh made omelets, waffles and Mickey Pancakes!
After being seated, your server will get your drink orders and bring them to the table while you are making your first trip to the buffet.
The food at the buffet is good and plentiful, with food service workers refreshing the hot items continuously.
Military Disney Tips recommends the Garden Gallery Buffet if you’ve got the time for a sit down meal and want to fill up for your Walt Disney World day.
The buffet prices are: $13.95 for adults (12+), $7.95 for kids 5-11, kids 2-4 are $2.95, and kids under 2 are free.
Check out the buffet pictures below.
Have you eaten at the Garden Gallery? Tell us what you thought in the comments below.
One word of caution, the lines waiting to be seated can be long during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get to the Disney theme parks at the same time. Be sure to build some extra time into your schedule if you want a big filling breakfast. There are several other Quick Service options if you’d rather grab something on the go.
The made to order omelets, waffles and Mickey Pancakes are the big hit!
Be sure to tell us all about you Garden Gallery Experience in the comments!

Made several stays at SOG in the last four years and always had both breakfast and dinner a few times each trip. Always was able to fill up on things I like and everything tasted great. You are right about the lines being long for breakfast, but if you can, the wait is worth your time.
Thanks for sharing Michael.
Outstanding breakfast buffet, looked forward to it every morning!!Can’t wait to go back!
Awesome, thanks Bryan
We love Shades of Green! Always do the Sunrise Package and have a great breakfast before heading out to the days adventures!
🙂
We stayed at Shades in October of 2014 and had the free breakfast buffet as part of our fall special rate. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and this is coming from someone who has not been thrilled with the meals in the past at SOG. As with any restaurant, there are hits and misses. Each persons palate is unique. However, we found the range of options completely satisfying and you can’t go wrong with the Mickey pancakes for the little ones. We will not hesitate to stay at this lovely resort, and eat the breakfast buffet again. Hope this helps our fellow military friends!
Thanks Michelle, the food does seem to be improving. Had an awful dinner buffet a couple of years ago.
Over the last 43 yrs I have visited Disney World over a 100 times. Many times staying at Shades of Green, especially the last few years since the expansion. It always feels like coming home when we stay at Shades of Green. The last time we stayed was 13-23 December, 2014. When we arrived and registered we were told that we had been signed up for the free breakfast for two. Somehow I missed that when we got our reservations, but the breakfast are always great, but to get them free was even sweeter. The food the past few stays has been of high quality, numerous selections, and if you get the chance to talk with one of the cooks while they prepare your omelet, that is just an added bonus. Love Shades of Green and just made our next reservations for May 2015.
Thanks for your thoughts Kenny.
We have been to Shades of Green seven times. The hotel atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. All of the restaurants including the Garden Gallery have great meals. I also have some food allergies, which they take extreamly seriously there. They make sure to help with different food choices or to alter your dood items. Always with a smile. We can’t wait to come back! See yoy soon!
Nice to know they were so accommodating Daniel.
We have stayed at Shades, whenever we go to Disney, almost every year! For a family of 4, we add the sunrise package to our room and it is an EXCELLENT deal!! We also are sure to grab a piece of fruit or two, to take with us to the park!! I feel it is the best deal for breakfast in the park!
Hard to beat the buffer breakfast there!
We were just there last week and the quality of the food has greatly improved over years past. What a great economical way to feed our family of 7 and everyone is always happy with what they get… Something for everyone. Even my husband who is gluten sensitive was able to eat there.
The dinner buffet is very good as well and you will not be able to feed your family for that price anywhere else in Disney that’s for sure!
Thanks so much for your review Katie!
I would love to know what types of gluten free offerings they had. sandwiches? burgers? fries? waffles and/or pancakes? THANK YOU!
Hi Kate,
I’ll leave that up to readers, I’m not really tuned into gluten free.
They had a specified gf dessert a couple of times. Other than that it was just the wide variety of choices…. Potatoes, eggs etc at breakfast. Rice, great salad bAr, baked potatoes and always a couple of protein choices. No they didn’t have gf breads or waffles etc while we were there.
Anyone been recently? Looking for an updated review! We are going next month
I wish they would use yellow American cheese for omelettes . What they use doesn’t melt right
Hi Marion,
I agree, or at least give the option!
I grew up on American cheese in my omelets and still make them that way most of the time.
