Looking for a Disney World resort room that sleeps 6 at a great Rate?
Try a Junior Suite at Shades of Green.
(Updated October 2019 with new 2020 prices, note the decor has been updated with the Palm Wing renovation, but the layout is of course the same)
I recently had the opportunity to stay in a Shades of Green Junior Suite and I really enjoyed it!
It was so roomy and spacious. It consisted of a large living area, which had 2 fold out double couches and a master bedroom with a queen bed.
Everyone will have no problems getting ready in the morning using the 2 full bathrooms, each has a separate shower and double sink area.
The suite has a kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. china, glassware, and silver is provided.
Be sure to check out the video tour below!
There are also quite a few pictures below, click them to see larger versions.
The room rate for the Shades of Green Junior Suites is $304 per night with no tax added (FY20 Prices). For a comparison, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins also sleep 6, are much smaller, and run from $375 to $665 plus tax depending on the time of year (2019 Rates). If you are able to get a Disney Armed Forces Salute discount rate of up to 35% for the Fort Wilderness Cabins it can drop the rates to $400.00 to $737.00 with tax.

I was wondering if they would allow a party of 7 to stay in this suite or would we have to reserve two rooms? It would be for 4 adults, 1 teenager, an 8 yr old and a 5 yr old. I know Disney World resorts and hotels don’t allow it. Thanks in advance!
Hi Melissa,
I’m pretty sure Shades would be just the same. They do have 8 person suites too for $275.
Oh ok. Good to know! Thank you so much! I love your website too. So informative.
Where can I find a floor plan for the jr or family suites?
Unfortunately I’ve never seen any Sarah.
The Jr is basically 2 large connecting resort rooms, one with bath and entry hall in front and the other with the bath in front.
My 2 highschool seniors want to come to Shades of Green / Disney World for their senior trip. Actually, there will be three in the group, but all are military dependents with ID cards. Can I reserve a room for them or do I have to accompany them? Thanks in advance.
Hey Thomas,
I do believe that they can go by themselves, although Shades site does not indicate this. Definitely give them a call to confirm!
When was the video/pictures above taken? The current pictures on the shades website show updated suites, I am just wondering if all suites have been updated or if some are still like pictures above?
Trying to plan a trip for Feb 2020 and curious! THANKS SO MUCH!!
Hi Angelene,
Yes these photos are a few years old. The decoration has been updated but the layout would be the same.
I have some more recent pics of the Magnolia Suite which show updated appointments:
