Harambe Market: A Classic Animal Kingdom Setting with a Surprisingly Familiar Menu
Harambe Market still delivers one of the most immersive dining settings in Disney’s Animal Kingdom—but as of March 2026, the menu has taken a very different direction.

Location
Harambe Market sits in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, right in the heart of Harambe Village.
This location is just steps from the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris, making it one of the most convenient quick-service stops in the park.
Ambiance
The setting here is still fantastic—and honestly, that’s what keeps Harambe Market relevant.
The open-air design, weathered buildings, and layered storytelling make it feel like a real East African marketplace. You’ll find multiple ordering windows, shaded communal seating, and plenty of space to relax.
One unique touch: seating extends toward the train tracks for the Wildlife Express Train, adding some subtle background activity while you eat.
Menu Overview
As of March 2026, Harambe Market has shifted to a simplified, American-style menu.
If you’ve been here before, this is a major change. Harambe Market used to be one of the more unique quick-service locations in Walt Disney World, offering African-inspired dishes like ribs, skewers, and gyros across multiple themed windows.
Over time, that evolved into rice bowls and lighter offerings—and now, the menu has taken a full pivot.
Current menu highlights include:
- Cheeseburgers and Bacon Cheeseburgers
- Chicken Strips
- Chicken Wrap
- Salads
This is now a much more familiar—and less adventurous—menu compared to what longtime visitors may remember.
You can view the current menu here.
What this means for you:
While the food is now more approachable (especially for picky eaters or families looking for something simple), it no longer stands out as a “must-try” dining location in Animal Kingdom.
Instead, Harambe Market is best viewed as:
- A convenient stop after Kilimanjaro Safaris
- A good option for classic theme park favorites
- A great place to sit and relax in a well-themed environment
Beverages with Alcohol
The drink menu still offers a few solid options, including:
- Harambe Sunrise – Jungle Juice with Wild Strawberry and Corazón Blanco Tequila
- Safari Amber – Red lager with caramel and malt notes
- Reef Donkey APA – Citrus-forward pale ale from Tampa Bay
Mobile Order
Harambe Market supports Mobile Order, which is highly recommended here.
This area can get busy—especially late morning through early afternoon—so ordering ahead will save you time and help you secure a table more easily.
Have you tried the new Harambe Market menu? Do you miss the old African-inspired dishes, or do you prefer the simpler options? Let us know in the comments—we’d love to hear your take!
