Discover the Glamour of Old Hollywood at The Hollywood Brown Derby

Location
📍Hollywood Studios | Hollywood Boulevard
Nestled in the heart of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, The Hollywood Brown Derby is located on Hollywood Boulevard, just a short stroll from the iconic replica of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre home to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This prime spot captures the essence of the golden age of Hollywood, making you feel as though you’ve stepped onto a classic movie set. Surrounded by vintage architecture and lush palm trees, this restaurant perfectly complements the park’s nostalgic atmosphere, placing you right in the middle of Tinseltown’s glamour.
Ambiance
Walking into The Hollywood Brown Derby is like stepping back in time to the 1930s, where elegance and sophistication were the orders of the day. The restaurant is a faithful reproduction of the original Hollywood Brown Derby, complete with dark wood paneling, leather booths, and an impressive collection of caricatures of Hollywood’s elite adorning the walls.
The ambiance is upscale yet welcoming, with a touch of Old Hollywood charm that invites you to sit back and dine in style. Whether you’re here for a romantic meal or a refined family dinner, the atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Menu
The Hollywood Brown Derby offers a menu that pays homage to its storied past, with a contemporary twist. The signature Cobb Salad, invented at the original Brown Derby, is a must-try and one of the most talked-about dishes on social media.
For those looking for a more substantial meal, the menu features gourmet American cuisine with options like the char-grilled filet of beef, pan-seared fish of the day, and a delectable selection of desserts, including the famous Grapefruit Cake. The carefully curated wine list and specialty cocktails add to the indulgence, making this a dining experience fit for a star.
Lounge
Not in the mood for a big sit-down meal? The Hollywood Brown Derby has an outdoor Lounge that serves a limited lighter menu that still includes the Cobb Salad and desserts. I love sitting in a shady spot, enjoying a craft cocktail with my Cobb Salad, and people-watching (or chipmunk-watching)!
The Brown Derby Lounge uses a digital Walk-Up List. To use the walk-up list you must be in the park and near the restaurant. In your My Disney Experience app click on Check Dining Availablity then input your party size, scroll to the bottom, and click on Join a Walk-Up List. You’ll then need to scroll to find the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. The app gives an estimated wait time or tells you the walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand. If it is full, check back later, walk-up lists often open back up! Or just step up to the outdoor entrance to the lounge and make a reservation with the attendant.
Reservations
Given its popularity and the restaurant’s status as a Signature Dining experience, advance dining reservations are highly recommended. Guests often book weeks or even months in advance, especially during peak times. If you’re hoping to dine here, it’s wise to secure your spot as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Last-minute diners may find it challenging to snag a table, so plan ahead for this culinary highlight of your Hollywood Studios visit.
