Every once in a while I get an email from a member of the military from other countries asking about what military discounts might be available for them, not only for Disney World but also the other Orlando theme parks. Just last week I received three of these, one from the UK, one from Canada, and one from Brazil.
So I thought I’d put a post up with some details.
Unfortunately foreign military members are not eligible for Disney’s special Armed Forces Salute.
But foreign military members are eligible to stay at the Shades of Green Resort, the US military owned and operated hotel on Disney World property. As guests of the Shades of Green they would then be eligible to purchase the regularly military discounted tickets for Disney World , Universal Studios Orlando, Sea World, and many other venues. Note some non-US military are eligible for Disney’s Armed Forces Salute.
Shades of Green has several eligibility categories and Non-US Military fall into the “Other Supporters of the Department of Defense” category specifically “Military personnel of foreign nations and their family members when assigned or attached to a U.S. military unit or installation or on U.S. Travel Orders.”
The identification required is either a DD Form 1173 or DD Form 2765.
