The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion (formerly The Living Seas) is themed as an oceanic exploration base called SeaBase, with several exhibits devoted to the study of the oceans.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends

📍EPCOT | World  Nature

The building includes a 5.7 million gallon aquarium. The aquarium is the second-largest aquarium in the U.S. and the sixth-largest in the world. In the main exhibit area guests can view a plethora of sea life and interact with various multimedia displays.

The Living Seas opened in 1986 and was re-themed in 2006 as The Seas with Nemo & Friends after the film Finding Nemo.

You’ll enter the entirely indoor pavilion via a short ride on The Seas with Nemo and Friends attraction and be dropped off at Sea Base.

Alternately, you can enter through the gift shop which is also the exit on the left side of the building.

World Nature Neighborhood

As part of the ongoing reimagining and restructuring of Epcot, Disney has introduced the concept of neighborhoods within the park, and The Seas Pavilion has been designated as part of the “World Nature” neighborhood. This restructuring is aimed at creating a more cohesive and thematic experience for guests, aligning with EPCOT’s original vision while infusing new elements of storytelling and innovation. The Seas Pavilion, with its focus on ocean life, environmental education, and conservation, perfectly aligns with the theme of this neighborhood.

Attractions and Experiences

The Seas with Nemo and Friends – The dark ride at EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion is a whimsical and classic Disney attraction that transports guests into the animated world of Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo. Climbing aboard a “clamobile,” visitors embark on an undersea adventure alongside lovable characters such as Nemo, Marlin, and Dory.

The ride takes guests through vibrant coral reefs, mysterious sea caves, and open ocean expanses, all brought to life with vibrant colors and engaging audio-animatronics. The incorporation of digital technology seamlessly blends the animated characters with physical sets, creating a magical and seamless experience. It’s a perfect family-friendly attraction that captures the charm and wonder of the undersea world in a truly enchanting way.

The SeaBaseAquarium – The aquarium at EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion is a breathtaking underwater wonderland, known as The Seas. Boasting over 5.7 million gallons of water, it ranks as one of the largest man-made ocean environments globally.

Home to more than 4,000 sea creatures representing over 60 species, the aquarium provides guests with a mesmerizing glimpse into marine life. Notable inhabitants include majestic sea turtles, graceful rays, and even formidable sharks. The massive acrylic windows, each weighing several tons, allow for unparalleled views, creating an immersive experience. One of the most intriguing features is the innovative use of hydroponics and aquaponics systems, where plants help maintain water quality.

Also, did you know that the pavilion actively participates in marine conservation efforts and serves as an educational hub, inspiring visitors to appreciate and protect our oceans. The Seas aquarium a must-visit destination for both Disney enthusiasts and those passionate about the wonders of the sea.

Aquarium Scavenger Hunt – Want more reasons to love The SeaBase? If you’re EPCOT day is doomed to be a wet one, visitors can enjoy interactive underwater adventure with the free scavenger hunt booklet available at The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion. This engaging activity invites guests to become marine explorers as they embark on a mission to discover hidden treasures and fascinating facts throughout the aquarium. The scavenger hunt offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment, guiding participants to various exhibits and encouraging them to observe and learn about the diverse marine life on display.

Ideal for families or solo adventurers, this rain-friendly activity not only provides a fun escape from the weather but also enhances the aquarium experience by turning it into an exciting quest for knowledge.

Turtle Talk with Crush – Turtle Talk with Crush at EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion is an attraction like no other for guests of all ages.  This real-time animated show features Crush, the laid-back sea turtle from Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo, engaging in live conversations with the audience.

Turtle Talk with Crush

Through innovative technology, Crush responds to questions and comments from the audience, creating a dynamic and entertaining interaction. The experience is not only delightful but also educational, as Crush shares insights about marine life, the ocean, and his underwater world. With its blend of humor, technology, and audience participation, Turtle Talk with Crush provides a unique and memorable encounter that captures the magic of Disney’s commitment to storytelling and immersive experiences.

Dining Options

Coral Reef Restaurant – The Coral Reef Restaurant, within EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion, offers a dining experience like no other. Boasting an underwater setting with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the pavilion’s massive aquarium. This unique restaurant allows guests to enjoy their meal surrounded by the mesmerizing beauty of a vibrant coral reef.

As patrons savor a delectable seafood-inspired menu, they are treated to an awe-inspiring display of marine life, including colorful fish, graceful rays, and even sharks. The immersive ambiance and the ever-changing aquatic scenery create a captivating dining atmosphere, making the Coral Reef Restaurant a must-visit for those seeking a culinary adventure combined with the wonders of the underwater world.

Conclusion

The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion offers a unique combination of entertainment, education, and dining, making it a must-visit destination for guests of all ages at EPCOT. It is also a great go-to in the middle of an especially hot day, or during one of those famous Florida rainstorms. The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion within World Nature not only is fully enclosed and air conditioned, it is a great representation of the Walt Disney Company’s mission towards conservation.
