Location
A Magic Kingdom Area Resort
The Polynesian Village Resort is one of The Best Disney Resorts for Magic Kingdom Fans
Transportation
Bus transportation is available to all Disney World guest areas.
Monorail Transportation is available to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Transportation and Ticket Center, Contemporary Resort, and the Grand Floridian Resort.
Boat Transportation is available to the Magic Kingdom.
You can walk directly to the Magic Kingdom from the Polynesian via the new sidewalk and bridge between the Grand Floridian and the Magic Kingdom. It is roughly 1.2 miles from the Polynesian lobby through the Grand Floridian Grounds and on to the security checkpoint at the Magic Kingdom.
Overnight Parking is $25.00 per night at the Disney World Deluxes. Note this charge is initiated for all nights of your stay either by telling the front desk that you have a vehicle when checking in or by using your room key/Magic Band to enter the parking lot. If you will not be parking every night (say you have a rental car for just a dat or so) coordinate this with the front desk.
Valet service is $33 per night (sales tax included). Note: due to ongoing staffing shortages, valet service is only available to those with a valid disability parking permit.
It is now possible to walk to the Magic Kingdom from Polynesian by way of the Grand Floridian due to the addition of a bridge and completion of the sidewalk.

Our Thoughts

This Disney Resort Hotel is a Military Disney Tips Tested Resort! |
We recently stayed at the Poly. The room was fantastic!
We stayed at the Poly to be on the monorail for easy access to the Magic Kingdom and to transfer to the Epcot Monorail line. The first morning of our stay we were going to Epcot. We had a bit of a wait for the monorail (longer than years past) and then rode the monorail for 20 minutes over to the Transportation and Ticket Center to get on the Epcot Monorail. When we got there there were signs in front of the Epcot Line entrance that it was closed. They then put us on a bus which then drove right by the Poly on the way to Epcot! Cast members told me they did not have enough monorail trains (as they are called) running to handle the normal load. Our whole 4-day trip there were long lines and waits for the monorail. If this happens to you ask a manager to credit your account as you are paying about a $200 per day premium to stay at a monorail resort. I asked and got the credit no problem.
Quick Service breakfast is also an issue at the Poly! Thee is only the small Captain Cooks which is both a quick service and grab and go. The problem is that they only have 3 registers and they do not always have them all open. Whether you want to order a hot breakfast or just grab a pastry from the case and a coffee you have to go through the single line. The line often stretches out into the hallway.
