Where to Get Beer in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion: Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand

There Are Three Easy Places to Grab a Beer in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion

If you’re walking through EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion and want a beer without sitting down for a full meal, you have three quick-service options.

The two most obvious are the Bier und Brezeln Cart along the World Showcase promenade and the Bier Stand just inside the Platz. They’re only about 90 feet apart, making it easy to check both before deciding what sounds best.

You can also get beer at Sommerfest, the Germany Pavilion’s quick-service restaurant. Sommerfest is tucked away at the rear of the pavilion and cannot be seen from the Platz, so the Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand are the locations most guests notice first.

Quick answer: I use the Bier und Brezeln Cart most often because it’s directly along the World Showcase promenade and normally has the shorter line. Since both locations currently offer the same four German beers, I usually choose based on convenience. The Bier Stand is the better choice if you want one of its frozen drinks.

Location Bier und Brezeln Cart Bier Stand
Where It Is Lagoon side of the World Showcase promenade, opposite the Germany Pavilion Platz Right side of the Platz when facing into the pavilion from the promenade
Beer Beck’s Pilsner, Warsteiner Dunkel, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, and König Ludwig Weissbier Beck’s Pilsner, Warsteiner Dunkel, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, and König Ludwig Weissbier
Wine Selbach-Oster ‘Red Label’ Riesling Selbach-Oster ‘Red Label’ Riesling
Other Alcohol None listed Bärenjäger Honey & Bourbon Liqueur or Jägermeister Liqueur added to a Frozen Coca-Cola or Minute Maid Premium Lemonade Slushy
Food Jumbo Pretzel with optional House-made Obatzda Cheese Dip Jumbo Pretzel with optional House-made Obatzda Cheese Dip
Nonalcoholic Drinks Bottled water Frozen Coca-Cola or Minute Maid Premium Lemonade Slushy and bottled water
Typical Line Usually only two or three parties Formal queue that can reach around ten guests
Best For The quickest and most convenient beer stop while walking World Showcase Frozen drinks or when you’re already exploring the Germany Pavilion Platz

Bier und Brezeln Cart

The cart currently offers four German beers: Beck’s Pilsner, Warsteiner Dunkel, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, and König Ludwig Weissbier. The beers are also offered in souvenir steins.

You’ll also find Selbach-Oster ‘Red Label’ Riesling, bottled water, and a Jumbo Pretzel. You can add House-made Obatzda Cheese Dip to the pretzel.

The line is normally very short. In my experience, there are rarely more than two or three parties waiting. Because the beer selection is essentially the same as the Bier Stand across the promenade, that convenience is the biggest reason I normally use the cart.

Bier Stand

The Bier Stand currently offers the same four German beers as the Bier und Brezeln Cart: Beck’s Pilsner, Warsteiner Dunkel, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, and König Ludwig Weissbier. The beers are also offered in souvenir steins.

You’ll also find Selbach-Oster ‘Red Label’ Riesling and the same Jumbo Pretzel with optional House-made Obatzda Cheese Dip.

Where the Bier Stand differs is its frozen drink selection. You can get a Frozen Coca-Cola or Minute Maid Premium Lemonade Slushy on its own or add Bärenjäger Honey & Bourbon Liqueur or Jägermeister Liqueur.

The Bier Stand has a short formal queue rather than the more open walk-up setup at the cart. I’ve seen around ten guests waiting here, while the cart across the promenade usually has only two or three parties.

Which Beer Location Should You Choose?

For beer, the choice is much simpler than it might initially appear.

The Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand currently offer the same four German beers, the same Riesling, and the same Jumbo Pretzel with optional Obatzda Cheese Dip.

That means I normally choose based on convenience.

I prefer a Pilsner, and since I can get a Beck’s Pilsner at either location, I usually stop at the Bier und Brezeln Cart. It’s directly on the World Showcase promenade and, in my experience, normally has the shorter line.

The Bier Stand becomes the more interesting choice if you want one of its frozen drinks, particularly the versions with Bärenjäger or Jägermeister.

Otherwise, don’t overthink it. The two locations are only about 90 feet apart. If one has a noticeably longer line, walk across the promenade and check the other.

Don’t Forget Sommerfest

The Germany Pavilion has one additional quick-service option for beer: Sommerfest.

Sommerfest is located at the rear of the pavilion near Biergarten Restaurant. Unlike the Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand, it cannot be seen from the Platz, so many guests walking through the pavilion may not immediately realize it’s there.

If you’re already planning to eat at Sommerfest, there’s no reason to make a separate stop just for beer.

But if you’re simply walking World Showcase and want a quick drink or pretzel, the Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand are much more obvious and convenient.

The Jumbo Pretzel Is Worth Adding

Both beer locations serve the Germany Pavilion’s Jumbo Pretzel.

I love these pretzels.

They’re large enough to share, especially if you’re snacking your way around World Showcase, and they pair exactly as well with a German beer as you’d expect.

If you’re looking for something more substantial than a pretzel, Sommerfest offers a broader quick-service menu.

Where Can You Sit?

Neither location has a dedicated dining room, but finding nearby seating normally isn’t difficult.

There are tables throughout the Germany Pavilion Platz, along with additional seating between the World Showcase promenade and the lagoon. Some of the lagoon-side seating is shaded, making it a good place to take a break on a hot afternoon.

You can also simply take your drink with you and continue around World Showcase.

Steve Says

I use the Bier und Brezeln Cart most often because it’s directly on the World Showcase promenade and usually has the shorter line. Since both locations currently offer the same four German beers, there’s little reason for me to walk over to the Bier Stand when I’m simply looking for my preferred Pilsner.

The Stand is worth checking if you want one of its frozen drinks. Otherwise, with only about 90 feet separating the two, I’d simply use whichever location is most convenient or has the shorter queue.

Bottom Line

If you want a quick German beer while touring EPCOT’s World Showcase, the Bier und Brezeln Cart and Bier Stand make it easy.

The Bier und Brezeln Cart is the most convenient option because it sits directly on the World Showcase promenade and usually has the shorter line. The Bier und Brezeln Cart is the most convenient option because it sits directly on the World Showcase promenade and usually has the shorter line. The Bier Stand is only about 90 feet away and currently offers the same core beer lineup, but it adds frozen Coca-Cola and lemonade drinks, including versions with Bärenjäger or Jägermeister.

And if you’re hungry for more than a pretzel, remember that Sommerfest is hidden farther back in the pavilion and offers another quick-service beer option along with a larger food menu.

For me, the routine is simple: stop at the Bier und Brezeln Cart because it’s directly on the promenade, add a Jumbo Pretzel, and find a shady table overlooking World Showcase Lagoon. If the cart has a longer line or I want one of the Bier Stand’s frozen drinks, it’s only about 90 feet away.
