Sommerfest in EPCOT’s Germany

While most people rush to Mexico or France in the World Showcase, for many, the German pavilion is the one that stands out with its rich heritage and lively charm.

At the heart of this cultural haven lies Sommerfest, a delightful quick-service spot where visitors can immerse themselves in the warmth of German hospitality and flavors.

Atmosphere: A Bavarian Hole in the Wall

Sommerfest is located behind the clock tower. You can enter from either side.

Sommerfest is one of the more confusing Quick-Service in EPCOT; it’s more of a stand within a building. The inside is meant to mimic an outdoor area, and it has few outdoor patio tables. It is an awkward space that is uncomfortable, so we suggest just going outside with your food and enjoy the view of EPCOT!

Menu

As you would expect from the Germany pavilion, the menu is all about the BEER! There are 4 different authentic German beers to choose from. They include a pilsner, a dark pilsner,  a lager, and a hefeweizen.

Of course, no German beer can be enjoyed without a pretzel or bratwurst with sauerkraut. The menu might be small, but it is mighty! The bratwurst is served hot on a freshly baked crusty roll and served with house-made paprika chips.

We saved the best for last! If you love pretzels and bread pudding, then you have to have the pretzel bread pudding at Sommerfest. It is one the hidden gems of EPCOT. It has a sweet and salty profile with the perfect texture of soft custard-soaked bread. PRO-TIP: Ask for extra cream sauce. You won’t regret it!

Service: Quick and Convenient

Sommerfest is a Quick-Service option in the German pavilion adjacent to the main restaurant, Biergarten Restaurant. This means you can just walk up and get what you want when you want it, no reservations required!

If tasting around Germany is on your must-do list and you don’t want to fill up at Biergarten Restaurant, then Sommerfest is the perfect place for you. Prost!

Mobile Order

Mobile Order is a fantastic feature for Walt Disney World fans, providing a convenient and efficient way to order and pay for meals at various dining locations within the parks through the official Disney mobile app, and is also available for Sommerfest. This innovative system allows visitors to browse menus, customize their orders, and make payments digitally, reducing the need for long lines and wait times. Once orders are ready, guests receive notifications to pick up their food at a designated window, saving valuable park time and enhancing the overall dining experience. Mobile Order is a must-try for anyone looking to streamline their dining adventures at Disney World.
