Will Disney continue to extend their Military Discounted Ticket and Resort Room Offer?
Military Disney Tips has been the first to publish the previous announcements of the Armed Forces Salute continuations, since September 2012, so stay tuned.
Military Discounts have not been announced yet. But when they do become available, I will announce it immediately. To be notified when the 2026 Walt Disney World Military discounts are announced, make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter.

Disney Military Discounts
Disney and the DoD offer a variety of discounts to military families.
There are the highly discounted Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets that this post is about, which are offered by Disney. These are offers on a yearly offer-by-offer basis. Meaning that Disney has to offer a new Salute for the coming year, and they could always decide not to do so. This is not a permanent discount and only started in 2010.
Disney offers a Disney Armed Forces Salute Room Discount. A variable percentage off eligible rooms. This offer also has to be renewed to continue.
And finally, from Disney, Walt Disney World offers a Military Discount on PhotoPass Memory Maker. Again renewed yearly.
All the above generally require a current military ID (active, guard/reserve, retired, spouse) to use.
The permanent discount on Disney tickets that I call the Regular Disney Military Ticket Discount for Walt Disney World and Disneyland is offered by the DoD through Base Ticket Offices. This offer has always been available, as far back as the 7os. Base Ticket Offices sell slightly discounted versions of the Magic Your Way Tickets that are available to the general public.
These have the same eligibility as the Salute discounts, plus those eligible for the Equal Access Act.

Did you just serve and get out? You are eligible to stay at Shades of Green and buy tickets there as a guest in January and September with your DD-214.

Armed Forces Salute Announcement History
The Walt Disney Company has offered an Armed Forces Salute since the economic downturn in 2009 caused their resort room reservations and ticket sales to fall. These fantastic Military Discounts have been on both theme park tickets and resort rooms, and have allowed many military families to have a great vacation once the military member returns from a long deployment.
Each subsequent year after 2009, it’s been hard to determine if there would be an offer for the next year. Disney announced the 2010 offer at the very end of December 2009, just prior to the end of the ’09 offer. The 2010 offer originally only ran through 31 July 2010, and was later extended to 30 September.
In September 2010, Disney was continuing their repeated assertions that there would be no continuation of these military salute offers for the rest of 2010 or for 2011, and then on 4 October, without any warning, Disney announced a new room-only discount, and there were lots of rumors and insider tips that a ticket discount was coming too. Then on 24 October, Disney announced its ticket offer.
The 2010 Disney Armed Forces Salute initially ran from October 2010 through September 2011. But in April of 2011, Disney announced the Salute would be extended through the end of September 2012.
Then on 8 August 2012, they announced a new Salute for 1 October 2012 – 28 September 2013.
22 July 2013, they announced a Salute for 29 September 2013 through 27 Sept 2014.
21 July 2014 they announced a Salute for 28 September 2014 through 3 October 2015. This is the current Disney Armed Forces Salute.
June 2015 saw a 2.5-month-long extension of the 2014-2015 Disney Armed Forces Salute through just before Christmas 2015.
In late September 2015 the 2016 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced, this time on a calendar year basis.
The Disney Armed Forces Salute Offers then continued on a calendar year basis:
- Late September 2016 the 2017 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced.
- Late September 2017 the 2018 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced.
- Late September 2018 the 2019 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced.
- Late September 2019 the 2020 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced.
- Mid March 2020 Walt Disney World and Disneyland Closed
- Late July 2020 Walt Disney World Re-Opens.
- Late July 2020 Walt Disney World Military Tickets went back on sale.
- Early December 2020, 2020 Walt Disney World Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets purchase period extended through 14 February 2021 and use period extended through 26 Sept 2021.
- Early February 2021 Walt Disney World Disney Armed Forces Salute announced, 2020 ticket sales had stopped.
- Late April 2021 Disneyland Re-Opens to California Residents.
- Mid-June 2021 Disneyland Re-Opens to Non-California Residents.
- Late June 2021, Disneyland Disney Armed Forces Salute for July 2021 to 2022.
- In mid-November 2022 the 2023 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced
- Near Veterans Day 2023, the 2024 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced
- Near Veterans Day 2024, the 2025 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced
- On Veterans Day 2025, the 2026 Disney Armed Forces Salute was announced

At Walt Disney World, the 2026 Disney Armed Forces Salute starts on 1 January 2026 and runs through 18 December 2026.
