If you’ve never been to Walt Disney World you may think that it’s just filled with hot dogs, pizza, popcorn and burgers…
Ok, it is, but the parks are also loaded with amazing snacks and treats that are anything but boring, but what snacks are not only worth your stomach space, but also worth your money?
Popcorn
Steve’s Got his Popcorn!
All Theme Parks – $13.00 / $2.25
Though we did just say that there’s more interesting snacks than popcorn, there is no way that we could talk about the best snacks for your money without mentioning Disney popcorn buckets. You may have seen them around the parks. You can purchase a popcorn bucket starting at $13, and then you can purchase refills at a discounted price of only $2.25. You won’t find a more inexpensive snack in Walt Disney World than the popcorn!
NOTE: The signs on the popcorn carts state that the refill savings apply for the duration of your vacation, but this can be misleading. You can bring any Disney popcorn bucket from any Disney park from ANY country and receive the discounted refill. It doesn’t matter if the bucket is 10 years old or 10 days old.
Corn Dog Nuggets
Casey’s Corner – Magic Kingdom – $10.29
These are no measly basic hot dogs, though you can one here at Casey’s Corner if you want. Corn Dog nuggets are iconic to the Magic Kingdom and they are great for a group! Not only are they bite sized and perfect for sharing, they also come with a side of fries. Grab your friends and stake out a spot on the hub grass for a little picnic!
Cinnamon Roll
Gaston’s Tavern – Magic Kingdom – $6.79
You have seen this gigantic cinnamon roll on our site before, and for good reason! The cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s Tavern are roughly the size of a barge… Just like Gaston. You can easily feed 3 adults for under $7 and that’s unheard of in Walt Disney World.
Dole Whip Flight
Swirls on the Water – Disney Springs – $6.49
Everyone loves Dole Whip, and maybe you’re a little tired of the traditional pineapple, or too afraid to commit to a new flavor. If that sounds like you head over to Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs! They offer a full flight of Dole Whip (with garnishes!) for the cost of a full cup of regular Dole Whip. The flights feature interesting flavors, too! We have seen everything from habanero lime to cookie dough!
Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich
Sleepy Hollow Refreshments – Magic Kingdom – $8.49
The Fresh Fruit Waffle at Sleepy Hollow is our go-to for mid morning snacking. It’s not only filling, but it is insanely delicious. Strong point here, but we say that this is the most delicious snack in all of Walt Disney World. Waffles are made fresh to order at this unassuming kiosk, and they are not the same style of crunchy/fluffy Mickey waffles. These are large and buttery, think more like Waffle House style. Now picture that and load it with Nutella, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. There’s fruit so it’s healthy, right?
Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich
Dino Bite Snacks – Animal Kingdom – $7.29
Sometimes the classic snacks are the best, and because this is Disney, they are done to perfection! Somehow they take 2 freshly baked HUGE cookies that are crunchy enough on the outside to hold a scoop of ice cream without falling apart, but still soft on the inside. This Quick Service always has a specialty cookie on the menu as well that includes a roll through sprinkles that we are convinced helps with ice cream stabilization… Or at least that’s what we tell ourselves.
Bubble Waffle Sundae

Marketplace Snacks – Disney Springs – $8.99
Marketplace Snacks is our new place to enjoy a bubble waffle sundae, but a couple months ago some new sundaes dropped on the menu that require a spot on every must-have list! There are 5 different sundaes inspired by each of the Fab Five, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto, all wrapped in a bubble waffle. Oh, and did we mention that now even the bubbles are MICKEYS?!?
Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork
Image (C) Disney
Eight Spoon Cafe – Animal Kingdom – $6.79
Cover all of your comfort food basis with this savory snack in Animal Kingdom. You start with a base of ooey gooey macaroni and cheese, then you top it with saucy barbecue pulled pork, and garnished with green onions.
EPCOT Festival Booths
EPCOT Festival of the Arts – Italy
EPCOT during 9 months of the year – $5 – $9
There is almost always a festival going on in EPCOT, and EPCOT festivals mean food booths! These temporary food booths are in addition to the permanent pavilions in the World Showcase. But these Festival Booths are an ultimate win in snack games because you can really try a little bit of this and a little of that at multiple booths and countries for the same price as a meal in a restaurant. EPCOT Festivals are also an excellent time to try something new that maybe you would not have tried otherwise. Escargot, anyone?
Disney Themed Mousse Cakes
A Mickey Mousse Cake
Multiple Locations – $5 – $9
There is just something so happy about a Disney mousse cake! You can find these everywhere like at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, Catalina Eddie’s in Hollywood Studios, Gaston’s Tavern in the Magic Kingdom, and Creature Comforts in Animal Kingdom. These are most often shaped to be a Mickey, but occasionally you will see other characters featured like Mr. Toad or Goofy. These are those treats that are not only decadent to the palate, but they are also beautiful! Nothing says “I’m in the most magical place on Earth” quite like a beautiful Disney dome cake.

So about the refillable popcorn buckets. Have you actually brought an old WDW bucket from years earlier & been able to buy a refill?
Sheila – ABSOLUTELY!
This is my favorite Disney hack for family vacations. As long as the bucket is a Disney parks bucket, that means from literally any of the Disney parks, it’s good to use in the parks for the refill deal.
Side tip: You can often go on websites like Ebay and purchase Disney popcorn buckets at a discount.
Enjoy!
