Test Track is an exhilarating attraction within the futuristic realm of EPCOT’s World Discovery.
Test Track High Speed Run
EPCOT’s fastest ride is back and better than ever! After more than a year of closure, Test Track 3.0 reopened in July 2025 with a brand-new look and theme. Inspired by EPCOT’s original World of Motion pavilion, the reimagined Test Track celebrates the history and future of mobility, while keeping the high-speed thrills fans love.
The Queue
The queue has been completely reimagined. Gone is the Chevrolet Design Studio, where you once built your own custom car. Instead, the new experience takes you through six immersive exhibit zones that highlight both the history of automotive design and the innovations that shape transportation’s future.
Expect sleek displays of concept cars, cutting-edge technology, and nods to EPCOT’s World of Motion roots. Projection mapping, dynamic lighting, and over 29,000 points of light simulate modern vehicle sensors, making the queue a visually stunning part of the attraction. A brand-new soundtrack by composer Zain Effendi sets the mood, blending futuristic energy with nostalgic tones.
The Ride
Test Track remains EPCOT’s fastest ride, hitting top speeds of 65 mph as your SIM Car rockets through the outdoor speed loop. The focus is no longer on testing your custom-designed car, but rather on showcasing the mobility of the future.
The indoor portion takes you through a sleek, reworked environment filled with digital projections and effects, followed by the famous finale: a high-speed dash around the track. Test Track continues to combine thrill-ride excitement with EPCOT’s tradition of innovation and storytelling.
The Ride Vehicle
You’ll board a six-passenger SIM Car with two rows of three seats. The updated vehicles feature streamlined styling to match the attraction’s futuristic theme. Each vehicle is equipped with upgraded audio that syncs to the new soundtrack, immersing you in the ride’s energy from start to finish.

This is the old design car, but they are the same now, just trimmed differently.
Did You Know?
The original concept of the Test Track attraction was that you, as the rider, were the crash test dummy. Do you remember those commercials in the 90s?
Accessibility is a key consideration at Disney theme parks, and Test Track is designed to accommodate a wide range of guests, including those with mobility challenges. The attraction offers accessible entrances and boarding procedures, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the adventure. Wheelchair users can transfer from their mobility devices into the SimCars with the assistance of Disney Cast Members, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.
Test Track is actually the fastest ride in all of Walt Disney World topping out at just over 65 MPH. That being said, there is a height requirement of 40”. Now let’s talk about the older members of the party, and by older, in this case, I mean over 30. Does your back hurt if you slept wrong? Then you might want to be wary of Test Track. The cars will jerk side to side and there is some whipping and lashing as your car is being run through the paces.
In summary, Test Track’s ride vehicles offer a captivating and interactive experience, allowing guests to engage in both design and high-speed testing. The attraction’s commitment to accessibility ensures that a diverse range of visitors can partake in the adventure, with necessary accommodations in place for guests with mobility challenges. As with any theme park ride, safety restrictions are in place to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone, underscoring Disney’s dedication to creating magical moments while prioritizing the well-being of its guests.
Lightning Lane For Test Track
Utilizing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Test Track at EPCOT is a savvy strategy for maximizing your theme park experience. With its consistently high demand and occasional weather-related interruptions, Test Track often attracts substantial wait times, potentially impacting your ability to explore other attractions. By securing access to Test Track through Lightning Lane, you can effectively bypass the long queues and optimize your time spent in the park.
PRO-TIP: If Test Track is on your must-do EPCOT list, go early! Snag a Lightning Lane if you have Lightning Lane Multi Pass or rope drop the attraction because when that nasty afternoon weather rolls in, Test Track will shut down until there is the all-clear from lightning.
Height Requirement
Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to ride Test Track.
Single Rider
Test Track remains one of the few attractions at Walt Disney World to offer a Single Rider line. This option is great if you don’t mind splitting up your party. Guests are placed individually into available seats, filling empty spots in the cars. With Test Track’s current popularity after reopening, the Single Rider line can save significant time.
Rider Swap
Rider Swap is available for Test Track. This allows one adult to wait with a non-rider (perhaps a child not tall enough) while the rest of the party experiences the ride. When the first group returns, they can swap without waiting in the full standby line again. Speak to a Cast Member at the entrance, and they will help set up Rider Swap so everyone in your party who meets the height requirement can take a spin on this high-speed adventure.
Accessibility
Guests must transfer from wheelchairs or ECVs into the ride vehicle. The ride’s high speeds, sharp turns, and restraint system make this transfer necessary. Service animals are not allowed on the ride. Assistive listening and handheld captioning devices are available upon request.
Ride Exit
Like all modern Disney attractions, Test Track exits through a themed merchandise shop to immediately take advantage of your post-ride excitement. And like a few other WDW attractions, the exit also feeds into an interactive play/display area.
As you exit your ride vehicle and follow the exit signs, you’ll first come to an area where Chevrolet, the current attraction sponsor, has many new model cars and trucks on display. You can talk to a Chevy rep or take a pic with the cars.
This area also hosts the Play Zone where you can take a virtual spin with various arcade style video games.
Past this area you’ll enter the Test Track SIMporium where you can check out Test Track merchandise. For example: toy cars, pit crew caps, pins and more. Apparel & Accessories, Pins, Toys & Plush, and Vinylmation.
