San Angel Inn Restaurante at EPCOT
A romantic riverside escape inside a Mesoamerican pyramid.
Step inside the towering Mexico Pavilion pyramid at EPCOT, and you’ll discover one of Walt Disney World’s most atmospheric dining experiences—San Angel Inn Restaurante. This table-service gem offers traditional Mexican cuisine in a setting that feels like twilight in an ancient village, all while boats from the nearby Gran Fiesta Tour gently float past your table.
Location
📍EPCOT | World Showcase | Mexico
San Angel Inn Restaurante is located inside the pyramid structure of the Mexico Pavilion in World Showcase. After entering the dimly lit indoor marketplace (El Mercado), look to your left near the front of the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride queue. The restaurant is set along the edge of the indoor lagoon, with stunning views of the Mayan temple and volcano in the distance.
Ambiance
Dining at San Angel Inn is like enjoying dinner in an open-air Mexican village at dusk—even though you’re technically indoors. The glowing lanterns, cobblestone streets, flickering torches, and gentle sounds of crickets and waterfalls create a peaceful, romantic atmosphere.
Candlelit tables line the water’s edge, and the boats from Gran Fiesta Tour drift past as part of the ambiance. Whether you’re here for date night or just want a relaxing escape from the Florida sun, this restaurant’s unique setting is hard to beat.
Menu
San Angel Inn Restaurante features traditional Mexican dishes with bold, authentic flavors. Think mole, tamales, tacos, and slow-roasted meats served with rich sauces and handmade tortillas.
Popular starters include:
- Tlayuda – Grilled flatbread with refried black beans, chorizo, cheese, and crema
- Sopa Azteca – A comforting tortilla soup with chicken, avocado, and pasilla chile
Entrées might include:
- Carne Asada – Grilled beef tenderloin with poblano rajas, chimichurri, and yucca purée
- Pollo a Las Rajas – Grilled chicken breast in a creamy poblano sauce with rice and vegetables
- Camarones a la Diabla – Spicy shrimp in a smoky chile sauce
And for dessert:
- Pastel de Chocolate Abuelita – Rich Mexican chocolate cake with cinnamon and a touch of heat
- Tres Leches – A classic Latin American sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk
There’s also a kids’ menu with more familiar flavors, plus vegetarian options.
Reservations
Reservations are strongly recommended for San Angel Inn Restaurante, especially during peak EPCOT hours and festival seasons. You can make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance through the Walt Disney World website or My Disney Experience app.
Walk-ups may be accepted depending on availability, but the popularity of the location and the indoor seating capacity make reservations your best bet.
Wrap-Up
San Angel Inn Restaurante offers more than just a meal—it’s an immersive experience that captures the romance and beauty of Mexico. Whether you’re sipping on a margarita while gazing at the volcano or enjoying a rich mole sauce by candlelight, this is one EPCOT dining experience you’ll remember long after your trip.
