Military Disney Tips Disneyland Overview

Disneyland Resort may be smaller than Walt Disney World, but planning a trip there still comes with a lot of moving parts. Military families often need to compare ticket options, understand Disneyland hotel discounts, learn how reservations and security work, and decide how much time to spend in the parks versus Downtown Disney and other nearby attractions.

Disneyland Theme Parks

Disneyland Resort includes two theme parks, and both are worth understanding before you buy tickets and start making plans. Each park has its own attractions, atmosphere, and strategy.

Disneyland Tickets

Disneyland military ticket options are different from Walt Disney World, so it helps to keep the Disneyland-specific rules separate. Military families usually compare the Disneyland military promotional tickets with the regular year-round military ticket options.

Disneyland Lodging

Disneyland lodging is a little simpler than Walt Disney World, but the decision still matters. Military families often compare Disneyland Resort hotels with Good Neighbor Hotels to decide whether the extra convenience and Disney perks are worth the higher price.

Disneyland Transportation

Disneyland transportation is much simpler than Walt Disney World. Once you arrive in the resort area, most guests get around on foot. That said, airport transportation and rideshare decisions still matter, especially if you are visiting other Southern California attractions.

Disneyland Dining

Disneyland has a strong mix of snacks, quick-service restaurants, table-service locations, and Downtown Disney dining. As at Walt Disney World, Disney-owned dining does not usually offer military discounts, but some non-Disney locations do.

Disneyland Technology

Disneyland now uses many of the same planning tools Disney fans know from Walt Disney World, including PhotoPass, mobile app functions, and Lightning Lane. There are still a few differences, so it helps to review these guides before your trip.

Disneyland Outside the Parks

There is more to Disneyland Resort than the two parks. Downtown Disney can be a destination of its own, and some military families also combine Disneyland with a Disney Cruise Line vacation or other Southern California activities.
