Who doesn’t enjoy some good ol’ Americanized Chinese Takeout? Break out your chopsticks, the Lotus Blossom Cafe in the China Pavilion in EPCOT offers you all the goodness of your local mall’s food court, but better. Why better? Well, first of all, you’re in Disney, but second, they have an alcohol menu.

The ambiance of the café is as inviting as its quick-service menu. If you long for the Saturday afternoons of your youth in a tacky, plastic-filled food court, then this is the place for you!

Menu

The menu is that great sticky, salty, sweet flavor that we are looking for when we think of Chinese food. No, it is not at all authentic, but it is delicious! You can find everything from orange chicken and fried rice to egg rolls and potstickers.

Ambience

We miss mall culture. While the “ambiance” of the Lotus Blossom Cafe doesn’t quite match the level of detail that Disney is known for, we still appreciate the food court-style nostalgia. With its hard chairs and tacky decor, you know that you will eat up your meal and not waste any time heading back into the park!

The Lotus Blossom Cafe is a quintessential Quick Service restaurant in Walt Disney World, meaning that you don’t need to worry about dining reservations or dress codes. Just walk up to the window when you’re ready and enjoy the China pavilion, American-style.

A Little Extra

After enjoying an afternoon walking around the gardens, seeing the Wonders of China film in Circle Vision-360, and eating some Orange Chicken and Dumplings, do you find yourself wanting more China? The House of Good Fortune gift shop is devoted to all things Chinese culture both young and old.

One of our favorite activities is to shop in the Lay’s section of the store. Yes, Lay’s, but let’s just say that these chips are nothing like what we’re used to seeing at the local grocery store. You will see flavors like Chili Beef, Squid Ink, and Shrimp, so ask yourself, are you feeling brave?

There are 2 dining areas on each side of the counters, both offering great views of the pavilion.
