One of the perks of staying on Disney property is all of the Disney Resort Hotel’s proximity to the theme parks, but you don’t want to book a hotel close to Animal Kingdom if you’re planning to spend all of your time in Hollywood Studios !

The Hollywood Studios Resorts

When considering a resort near Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, several options stand out, each offering its own unique blend of proximity, luxury, convenience, and amenities. Taking a quick peek,

Disney offers several resort hotels that are a quick Disney Skyliner ride away from Hollywood Studios and EPCOT as well. These resorts are the Disney Riviera Resort that offers a touch of European elegance, the Caribbean Beach Resort which provides a tropical retreat with a relaxing atmosphere, and the Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts that offer a lower price point with plenty of Disney theming.

EPCOT's International Gateway from the Disney Skyliner

The EPCOT Resort Area is also a Skyliner ride away from Hollywood Studios. The resorts near EPCOT are Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resort hotels, whose elegant ambiance and access to the resort’s renowned Stormalong Bay pool complex make them popular among guests seeking a deluxe experience.

Additionally, the Swan and Dolphin hotels offer a convenient location within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, ideal for those looking to explore multiple parks effortlessly. The BoardWalk Inn also presents a charming option with its lively boardwalk area featuring dining, entertainment, and scenic views.

Disney’s Friendships also provide transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Here at MDT, we have a lot posts describing many different walking routes at Walt Disney World, check out this one on the walk between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Crescent Lake where the Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk and Swan and Dolphin are located.

What is the Disney Skyliner?

Walt Disney World's Skyliner

Walt Disney World’s Skyliner is a gondola system that connects Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resorts with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot’s International Gateway.

The stations are located as follows:

  • Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts Station – This station is located on the bridge between the 2 resorts
  • Caribbean Beach Resort – This station services the southern portion of the Caribbean Beach and is the Main Station; here transfers are required for those arriving who desire to continue on to another destination.
  • The Riviera Resort – This station services the Rivera and northern portion of the Caribbean Beach. This station serves as both a turn point and a loading and unloading station
  • Hollywood Studios – Outside the Entrance
  • Epcot’s International Gateway – This station serves both EPCOT and the nearby EPCOT Deluxe Resorts

The Skyliner provides guests with quick, efficient transportation between these destinations.

Friendships are Disney watercraft taxis that ply the waters of the World Showcase Lagoon, Crescent Lake, and the waterway to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Friendships operate in 2 separate areas:

  • The World Showcase Lagoon – ferrying guests from the front to the rear of the World Showcase  and back

For this post we’re interested in the latter. The Friendships provide free, efficient travel between the EPCOT Resorts on Crescent Lake, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT’s International Gateway.

This resort is not just a place to stay; it’s a whimsical journey through some of Disney’s most beloved animated films. From the moment you step foot into the lobby, you’re greeted by vibrant sketches and scenes that feel like they’ve leaped straight out of classics like The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars.
